Claire Arthur Manager Environmental Science

 

BSc (Bachelor of Science, double major Marine Biology and Wildlife Management), MEnv(HonI)(Master of Environment Class I Honours)

 

Fulfilling the role of Manager of Environmental Science at Habitat, Claire Arthur is an environmental consultant with a general ecology background, covering all aspects of flora, fauna and ecological processes. She commenced her career within the private environmental consulting industry with Habitat in 2007, where she quickly established a stronghold on the industry. Claire has returned to Habitat after spending time working for other national and multi-national consultancies. During this time she also completed further postgraduate studies.


Claire has extensive experience covering aspects such ecological assessments, natural resource management, environmental planning approvals, GIS mapping and analysis, project management, client relations, environmental legislation, botany and rehabilitation planning. She’s been involved in actions at all levels of government in development and environmental assessment processes. Her core skills include vegetation identification and mapping, regional ecosystem identification, fauna surveys, rehabilitation planning, environmental approvals and environmental management.


 

Experience

·  Firm understanding of Federal legislation, State legislation and local planning controls pertaining to environmental management.

·  Ability to design and carry out Ecological Assessments in accordance with local planning policies.

·  Successful project management for a wide range of development applications.

·  Ability to operate Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs to produce relevant mapping and diagrammatic information.
